Noms Magazine

The videos below are a series I made for Noms Magazine, a Vancouver-based food magazine named Tiger’s Carb Heaven. Each episode showcases delicious dishes from all over China. Aside from the food, viewers can also learn about Chinese culture as I explain their origins and etiquette.

I was responsible for shooting, producing, and editing the entire project. The videos are released on Youtube and Noms Magazine’s website while going viral as Instagram reels. The series has excellent reviews from the audience, the restaurant owners, and my project manager. As a fan of food and culture videos, I have familiarized myself with shooting and editing videos to a professional standard. This project gave me the creative freedom to showcase my media skills and my ability to act under pressure while shooting within a limited space.

BCIT Journalism

The videos below are a combination of news stories shot, edited, and produced by me, along with me anchoring for BCIT’s news show. Even though it is a school program, every aspect of the show is done professionally and follows industry standards.

As a video journalist, I was responsible for pitching, contacting, shooting, and editing the story, which can be an enjoyable challenge. Throughout my time at BCIT, my instructors complimented me for my voice, on-air presence, editing skills, and cinematic shooting.

My experience as an anchor and a video journalist demonstrates many of my quality traits that will translate to the professional communications industry, such as my easygoingness, openness, transparency, and being ethical.
